On 4th February, 2015, six lecturers of VNU University of Economics and Business together with hundreds of other lecturers nationwide were honored at the announcement ceremony of Decision and awarding Certificates for the Title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2014 recognized by the State Council for Professor Title at Van Mieu (Literature Temple) - Quoc Tu Giam (Ha Noi), including Prof.Dr. Phan Huy Duong; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Anh Dung; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Khoi; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh Van Thong and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu.
Participating in the Ceremony were Vice President Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan; Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, Chairman of the State Council for Professor Title and professors, members of the State Council for Professor Title.
General Secretary of the State Council for Professor Title, Prof. Tran Van Nhung said that, there were 822 lecturers submitting documents for registering the Title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2014. The State Council for Professor Title voted and recognized 59 lecturers as Professor Title (accounting for 93.65%) and 585 others as Associate Professor Title (accounting for 99.83%).

Sharing with us, the new Associate Professor Nguyen Viet Khoi, lecturer at the Faculty of International Business and Economics, VNU-UEB, one of the young associate professors in Economics was recognized said that: “Being recognized as Associate Professor is the pride, milestone in the career of a lecturer and so do I. After many years of working as a lecturer, I am so honored and happy when my efforts and contributions have been recognized. However, this happiness is also challenge and responsibility. The paths ahead maybe more difficult and challenging than before but I believe that I will continue to go ahead if I still receive the love, support and help from my family, lecturers, colleagues and students…”
The UEB always encourages and pays much attention to the capacity development of staff and faculty. Through the meetings with scientists and lecturers, the UEB identified its orientation for developing lecturers’ capacity to meet the standards of Professor and Associate Professor Title; helping the scientists and lecturers clearly understand conditions, requirements to avoid making mistakes in the process of preparing documents… Since 2009, VNU University of Economics and Business has had one lecturer receiving Professor Title and 16 lecturers receiving Associate Professor Title.
