In 31st December 2013, Vietnam National University, Hanoi approved the scheme of doctoral program in Finance and Banking submitted by the Faculty of Finance and Banking (FFB), University of Business and Economics – VNU.
After five years of construction and development, until January of 2014, FFB have 1 Associate Professor, 9 Doctors, 4 Fellows and 5 Masters. There are 70% of lecturers graduated from universities of developed countries and 100% of lecturers who are able to use English proficiently in teaching and researching. In addition, FFB has cooperation with more than 20 scientists academically titled as Associated Professors and Doctors, who are also lecturers, cooperators, experts, researchers and adjunct lecturers working at universities, governmental agencies, corporations and banks.
The Doctoral Program in Finance and Banking was designed based on the reference of advanced doctoral programs in the world as well as doctoral programs of other Vietnamese universities. It also has inherited from the Master Program in Finance and Banking and Consulted Finance Doctoral program of Wharton University, which was ranked in top 100 universities in the U.S. The Doctoral Program in Finance and Banking was built toward researching orientation in which English is used in researching and maximum flexibility is made for Fellows during the doctoral course. The Program was highly evaluated by the Acceptance Council of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The scheme was edited several times based on valuable comments and suggestions of members of the Council, who are experts and professors in finance and banking field. After being approved by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the first course of the Doctoral Program in Finance and Banking will be deployed at University of Business and Economics - VNU in April, 2014.
