On 29th July 2009, Prof. Tom Cannon - a world economic expert leader from the United Kingdom - the man of ideas and solutions for crisis overcoming, presided the conference entitled “Overcoming the global financial crisis in order to build a sustainable future economy for Vietnam” organized at the Sheraton Hotel, Hanoi.
The conference was jointly organized by The Link World Unlimited International Event Company and the University of Economics and Business - VNU.
Many policy makers, scientists, managers and domestic and foreign enterprises attended the conference.
The main contents of the conference included: sustainable growth in the crisis, challenges in the future; important contribution to the development in Vietnam and the world; the new Vietnam economy in the new economy of the world.
In the context of the financial crisis occurring quickly, and complicatedly leaving bad impacts on the economies of the ASEAN and Vietnam, evaluating the situation properly, to find out the solutions and to make strategy for a sustainable development after the crisis are urgent objectives of governments, policymakers, scientists, entrepreneurs and enterprises in every country. In order to contribute to the development of the Vietnamese economy, The Link World Unlimited International Event Company and the UEB - VNU jointly invited Prof. Tom Cannon to Vietnam to deliver his presentations. This was one of the conferences presided and presented by Prof. Tom Cannon on his visit to Vietnam.
After the conference, on 31st July 2009, Prof. Tom Cannon attended and presented another seminar entitled “Innovation of leadership in Entrepreneurship and Business Development” at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
On 4th August 2009, Prof. Tom Cannon paid a visit Ho Chi Minh city to present a speech entitled “Overcoming the global financial crisis, in order to build long-term sustainable economic development in Vietnam”

Some information about Prof. Tom Cannon:
Prof. Tom Cannon is one of the most outstanding professors in strategic development at Liverpool University. Currently, he is the Chief Executive at The Ideopolis International Ltd
He is the former Director of Manchester School of Business, professor of commerce at many big universities in the UK, the USA and Asia. He also undertook many leadership positions at some enterprises in the UK and the world. He is the advisor for over 30 world leading multi corporations.
He used to work as a consultant for many government heads such as Prime Minister Lee Quang Yew of Singapore, Prime Minister Chu Jong Chi of China, President Vladimir Putin of Russia and Prime Minister Tony Blair of England.
