The series of Vietnam Annual Economic Reports summarized the achievements and difficulties, opportunities and challenges of Vietnam’s economy from 2009 to 2012 as well as analyzed several major economic issues. The reports series have been useful references for the policy makers in the making of macro-economic policies for sustainable development of Vietnam’s economy. The studies provided objective review of the status and core issues of the economy of the country, contributing an independent voice from a research institute of a university.
According to the Judges’ Council  of the prize, the series of Vietnam Annual Economic Reports in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 have met the criteria of the prize and received high appreciation from scientists. This is a serious research work in terms of data preparation and content, which have been widely used and received the attention of many agencies, organizations and economics researchers because of its breakthroughs in science and high applicability. This product of science was sent to the State’s research institutions, policy makers advisory body for application.
The study on the applications of stem cells has successfully developed a technology process of identification, classification, long-term implantation and storage of stem cells from bone marrow, cord blood and umbilial vascular endothelial.  The study also suggested processes of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for indicated patients; autologous stem cell transplant techniques in treating cases of post-myocardial infarction with coronary intervention, and cases with malignant blood diseases (MM and NHL); process of corneal epithelial sheet grafts for the treatment of corneal surface damage due to burns; and successfully developed standard procedures for the storage of stem cells from different sources (bone marrow, cord blood, umbilical vascular endothelial ).
