May 8, 2014, the closing ceremony of 28th AUN actual quality assessment was held at Vietnam National University Hanoi. The assessement was carried out for two bachelor training programs namely international standard Business Administration of the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) and Computer Science of VNU University of Engineering and Technology (UET).
The ceremony was attended by the external quality assessement team of ASEAN Universities Network (AUN); representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training; leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, leaders, staff and faculty members of the UEB and the UET.
At the ceremony, the AUN experts presented the results of the evaluation for the training programs after two working days. Managers of the two assessed training programs have feedback on the results reported.
Leader of the assessement team for the UEB’s BBA international standard Assoc.Prof.Dr. Wyona Patalinghug reviewed the strengths and shortcomings of the training program as in accordance with 15 criteria in the AUN Quality Assessement standards. Accordingly, the program had several prominent strengths such as faculty members’ qualification, consistency between subjects in equipping students for lifelong learning capacity, outcome quality out of the students, the satisfaction of all parties involved…
Responding to the review, Vice Dean of UEB’s Faculty of Business Administration cum Programme Manager Dr. Phan Chi Anh appreciated the time and effort of the assessment team, which has showed the advantages and challenges that the program needed to improve. He also expressed sincere thanks to the assessment specialists and committed to receive the suggesstions and to build specific plans to better develop the training program to meet the needs of learners and society.
The UEB Rector speaks at the ceremony
On behalf of the UEB, Rector Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son expressed his gratitude to the AUN Secretariat and external assessment team for giving great effort to verify and gather information to be able to bring the accurate and reliable results. He believed that not only the BBA training program but also all the UEB’s training system would be greatly improved after the assessment of the team.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son also expressed his sincere thanks to the relevant offices and departments of VNU, especially thanks the VNU Institute of Quality Assurance in Education for their assisstance during the working session. He highly appreciated he active participation of UEB staff , faculty members and students during assessment.

In her closing speech, AUN Executive Director Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nantana Gajaseni especially appreciated the role of VNU as the foundation and pioneer in quality assurance project of the ASEAN Universities Network. Moreover, she emphasized the importance of the assessor in helping the universities clearify the significance of the training programs in assessment scale. She hoped that VNU would continue to implement quality training programs under the criteria of AUN - QA. Finally, she congratulated the results that the two univesities achieved during the actual assessment.
To end closing ceremony, Chairman of VNU Council for Quality Assurance Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan and VNU Vice President Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Kim Son have thanked the active participation of the relevant parties and annouced end to 28th AUN quality assessment at VNU.
