Research purposes: The thesis clarified the rationale and importance of the approval of the Regulation of Permanent Normal Trade with Vietnam by the United States to improve the trade relations between the two nations following the directives of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the context of globalization and regionalization. The thesis mainly studied the impacts of the Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) on the commercial relations of Vietnam and United States
In the thesis, the benefits and challenges generated by the PNTR for Vietnam’s trade when it became a member of WTO were discussed. Then they were followed by a number of measures that Vietnam should apply to take advantage of the PNTR when building a two-way relations with the United States in the coming years.
