The UEB promotes cooperation with Thailand’s partners

A Thai representative introduces cooperation programs
On 25th July 2014, representatives of VNU University of Economics and Business has received and worked with a delegation from Thailand’s Office of Civil Service Commission (OCSC).


The delegation, led by Mr. Phanu Sungkhavon - Senior Consultant cum Director of OCSC’s Information and Communication Technology Centre, was companied by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Sarote Phornprapha - Executive Director of Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University and other officers of OCSC and Chulalongkorn University.
Receiving the delegation were Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - UEB’s Vice Rector and several UEB officers.
Greeting the delegation, on behalf of the UEB Management Board, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le  expressed his honor to meet officers from OCSC and Chulalongkorn University and discuss about cooperation opportunities.
Mr. Phanu Sungkhavon thanked the UEB leaders for their warm welcome and receiving. Introducing about OCSC of Thailand, Mr. Phanu Sungkhavon talked that the office is a governmental agency, directly under Office of the Prime Minister, which conducts periodic reports to the Prime Minister. Currently, the OCSC has been cooperating with Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chulalongkorn University’s Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration in implement the ASEAN Management and Leadership Development Program. Therefore, the delegation hoped to learn the development of services and human resource management in the ASEAN countries They introduced about the program and seek a partners’ network among ASEAN countries. Mr. Sungkhavon said, the delegation had the same meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry during their visit to Vietnam this time.
Dr. Nguyen Truc Le expressed the interest in the program, and said the UEB is willing to cooperate with the OSCS and Chulalongkorn University in the coming period. Regarding the feasibility of the ASEAN Management and Leadership Development Program, the UEB suggested that there should be a pilot program in small scale  first (among two or three countries), and their partners should also concern funding or financial issues to attract different resources.
At the meeting, the UEB Vice Rector also mentioned several priority programs, emphasizing that the university will be ready to coordinate in this program as well as other cooperation activities. Two parties will have more discussion to propose next steps for deployment.
