On 2 days October 16th-17th , 2019, the Asian Financial Education Workshop took place at Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore. Asia Pacific Financial Education Institute is organized on behalf of the model of The International Financial Literacy Conference - The Global Financial Literacy Exellence Center - GFLEC of George Washington University (USA).
GFLEC is considered to be one of the leading international organizations for measuring financial literacy, developing financial education programs and publishing industry-leading research on personal finance in US and around the world. Prof. Annamaria Lursadi, the founder and academic director of GFLEC is the world's leading expert on financial and personal finance education. She has taught in many famous universities such as Princeton University, University of Chicago, Columbia University and she is a policy adviser on financial education for many countries around the world. Every year, in the month of the cherry blossom season - April, International Personal Finance Center will hold a seminar where leading researchers in the field of personal finance, financial education all around the world will join to discuss the latest policy issues and personal finance research.

The Asian Financial Education Workshop is a joint initiative between Sim Kee Boon Financial and Economic Research Institute at Singapore Management University and the GFLEC of Geoge University Washington – USA, as a destination for researchers and policy makers on financial and personal finance education in Asia to discuss and share their latest research. The research paper was fairly selected competitive and the participants in the seminar were limited invitation only about 50 people. The seminar took place over two days, the first day discussed about research papers in the field of personal finance and financial education; the second day discussed issues related to financial education policy and promote the development of financial knowledge in Asian countries.

The presentation of Dr. Dinh Thi Thanh Van with topic Fintech (financial technology) in financial inclusion and financial education experience in Vietnam was selected to present and receive the attention of speakers and guests in the workshop. The presentation related to the combination of financial education of the Vietnam Financial Literacy Network at the University of Economics & Business with some fintech companies in Vietnam such as Finhay, Money Lover, ... or developing board games. This is an opportunity for lecturers from the University of Economics & Business to share their experiences in financial education, the reality of personal finance education in Vietnam and learn from experience from the world's leading experts in the field of personal finance.
