Finance and Banking Department discusses the collaboration with Vietnam Banks Association.

On 1st April 2015, at Vietnam Banks Associations, Finance and Banking Department Managers hold an event about processing the collaboration with Vietnam Banks Association.


Attending the meeting were Ms. Tran Thi Hong Hanh – General Secretary of Vietnam Banks Association, Ms. Le Thi Kim Xuan - Head of Representative Office of The Association in Ho Chi Minh city and Ms. Le Thi Kim Nga – Senior Officer of the Association. About the Department of Finance and Banking, we have Associate Professor Tran Thi Thanh Tu – the president of the department and Doc. Dinh Xuan Cuong – the vice president of the department.

Opening the meeting,  on behalf of the department of finance and banking, Ass. Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Tu thanked and appreciated the invaluable support of VNBA during implementation of the project “Enhancing capacity of corporate governance for Vietnam commercial banks”. She also expressed the hope that the association would  continue to support Finance and Banking department in the future, not only this project but also opening up new prospects for the cooperation between two sides in providing training for commercial banks in Vietnam.

Subsequently, Dr. Dinh Xuan Cuong introduced training courses and training capacity of Finance and Banking Faculty. Besides the faculty lecturers, the faculty has close links with the lecturers and professionals working in international organizations worldwide. Being taught by experienced lecturers, Finance and Banking Faculty training courses do not only provide students knowledge but also practical experiences.

The representative of Vietnam Banks Association, Ms. Tran Thi Hong Hanh agreed with ideas from the faculty. In addition, she shared the need of designing  some programs which link to risk management, changing system in case that commercial banks are complementing restructuring and M&A.

In the meeting, two sides discussed and made sure to have a long-term partnership. VNBA will be the bridge to connect Finance and Banking Faculty with commercial banks to create  best training courses.

In the end of the meeting, two sides unified the direction to cooperate and develope together.

The meeting had a good result and prospects to develope together.
