Associate Professor Tran Thi Thanh Tu and Dr Nguyen Hong Thuy had visited Melbourne and Sydney for conducting seminar and in-depth interviews on “Women empowerment in corporate governance – a comparative study between Australia and Vietnam”.

From 4 to 13 July, under the support from AUS4skill project funded by the Australia Embassy, Associate Professor Tran Thi Thanh Tu and Dr Nguyen Hong Thuy, Alumni of Swinburne Technology had visited Melbourne and Sydney for conducting seminar and in-depth interviews on “Women empowerment in corporate governance – a comparative study between Australia and Vietnam”.

UEB’s lecturer joins the 2018 Fulbright U.S-ASEAN Scholar program

In October 2018, Assoc.Prof.Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking, VNU University of Economics and Business started her 4-month research program at Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMASS) as the scholarship arwardee of The Fulbright US- ASEAN Scholar Program of The State Department.

Personal Finance refers to the management, spending, using money and property of individuals and households with specific levels of risk and expected future plans.

Research Group on Microfinance

For economic development, especially the increase in welfare for poor parts, to maximize the power of microfinance projects are very important. Not just to explore, discover new problems in this subject, the University of Economics - VNU also noticed the importance of auditing the effectiveness of the project. Thus, microfinance is seen as one of the three main research group of the Department of Finance - Bank.

The team specializes in behavioral finance, capital market and commodity derivative transactions (CIFB)

Formed from late 2014 until now, the group is led by Dr. Dinh Xuan Cuong - Deputy Chairman of the Department of Finance - Banks and the active participation of community members who are Nguyen Hoang Hai, Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung, Vu Van Duc, Vu Trung Kien, Pham Ngoc Ha, Pham Thuy Linh, Hoang Thi Hien. Group focuses on two main research arm follows:

The study of corporate governance in banks

Scientific research of the department of Finance - Banks were focused and developed. In the research orientation of the faculty, the content of corporate governance in banks is considered as one of the key issues.

Other research groups

Besides the three main research groups, Department of Finance - Banking also has another areas of research including urgent issues of banking and financial sector. Study leader is Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu and all the teachers and collaborators of the Faculty elite, students are learning and researching at the Faculty. Activities from 2012 to date, the group has had numerous articles in national and international appreciation for quality.

Strategic Research of Faculty of Finance and Banking for the period of 2010 – 2020

1. Faculty of Finance and Banking (FFB) see scientific research as not only lecturers’ requirements and obligations but also a basis for raising its prestige in the science. Therefore, the strategic development of the scientific activities from 2010 to 2020 is constructed as two periods follow: Aiming to the well-known university in researching Finance and Banking (2011 – 2015)
