Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) awarded to UEB’s student

The Global UGRAD is a prestigious exchange program scholarship valued 26,000 USD, funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with World Learning and embassies around the world. Each year 250 applicants from nearly 60 different countries are selected. In Vietnam, student Nguyen Lan Huong, intake 17 of the joint training program with Troy University was one of the six students receiving this prestigious scholarship. Huong was awarded the scholarship for one semester studying at the University of Kansas, Lawrence City.

Recalling the early days when deciding to apply for this scholarship, Huong said: "When deciding to apply for the scholarship, I took the time to memorize the past experiences, what I was doing and the future plans, combining all these things together to write the essay. This suited the scholarship criteria. Emotions and real experiences were always easy to write. Thanks to that, my application was accepted for the next round of interviews."

The desire to go to many parts of the world and share Vietnamese culture with international friends is the motivation for Lan Huong to constantly try every day.

After completing the interview round, the selected candidates will receive an invitation letter to take part in the Toefl iBT exam. This is not a popular certificate in Vietnam, so there are not so many resources for exams and training, but Huong said, students can still obtain books and learn from Youtube videos.

Winning the scholarship in joy, Huong said, "I would like to send my sincerest thank to my teachers at the Center for International Training and Education, VNU-UEB for enabling me to participate in the Global UGRAD, supporting me in the process of completing the application and procedures. I will try to bring the best images of our university to international teachers and friends."
