At Hall 801, E4 building, University of Economics and Business (UEB-VNU), the launching ceremony of the contest "VNU Innovation Start-up 2022" took place solemnly with the participation of representatives of the Hanoi Youth Union, the University Delegation. National Hanoi, the Youth Unions under VNU with teachers from faculties/schools, departments and sponsors - PP Trading and Production Joint Stock Company.

 

Choosing a topic for the competition, the organizing committee believe that the passing of the Covid-19 Pandemic makes each of us realize the fundamental changes in the social structure, the gap needs to be filled with a more open and sustainable economic mindset. The start-up process in this context should therefore not only focus on financial indicators, but need to participate in solving social problems such as environmental pollution, non-inclusive development, social inequality, gender inequality and benefits of disadvantaged groups.

 

Attending the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Truc Le, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Economics and Business had cordially shared and encouraged candidates to participate in the contest. From the successes achieved from the 2021 contest, as the host of the 2022 contest as well as the leading training unit, Rector Nguyen Truc Le affirmed that UEB-VNU will always support and be ready to support participants to find investors with the aim of turning startup projects into reality.

 

With its mission, the Green Startup and Environmental Action Club (GSEA) - a young member of the ecosystem of 24 Clubs under the Youth Union and the Student Union of UEB-VNU, has been approved and entrusted with the task of coordinating the organization of the event.

 

The launch ceremony closed with a talk show with 2 accompanying speakers, Mr. Ho. Dong Thap - Chairman of the Board of Directors of O2 Joint Stock Company and Ms. Nguyen Huyen My - Co-Founder of Moliv technology butler platform with sharing about difficulties in the start-up journey. Through the exchange, the speakers agreed that students should actively participate in the contest to learn more about the outstanding challenges facing Vietnam's economy and society and find their own solutions, enthusiastic and like-minded teammates to be able to go further not only in the competition but also on the path of starting a business.
