EU Share scholarship program: A step to create momentum to bring VNU-UEB students to the world

In the context of socio-economic fluctuations, which directly affects the young generation, requires students to be fully equipped with knowledge and skills in a variety of fields. With the goal of "Internationalizing education", leading the young generation of learners on the way to becoming global citizens in the future, the University of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Economics & International Business cooperated with Phnom Penh International University (Cambodia) to organize 2 courses under the full funding of the EU Share Scholarship Project for students of the two schools.

EU SHARE (The European Union Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region) is an EU-funded academic project with a total value of €15 million. The project aims to strengthen regional cooperation, improve education quality, competitiveness and internationalization of higher education institutions in the ASEAN region. EU Share is designed to strengthen cooperation between the EU and the ASEAN Economic Community (ACE), thereby working to build lasting benefits for higher education across ASEAN.

This year, the project implemented 2 courses: “International Economics” (course 1) for FIBE students QH-2019, QH-2020 and QH-2021 and “Writing for Transnational Business Management” (course 2) for students FIBE member QH-2018, QH-2019 and QH-2020. Not only receiving a scholarship for a 2-month course, UEB-VNU students also have the opportunity to exchange and learn knowledge from professors, lecturers and students from Phnom Penh International University. This is a valued opportunity for them to comprehensively develop both professional knowledge and professional personal skills, and acquire new knowledge through cross-cultural experiences.

The course is held in an online format. Students taking the COIL module are considered for credit equivalency upon completion. The program is for 2nd year students of UEB, with a GPA of 2.8/4.0 or higher and with good English language ability, meeting the requirements of the course. Besides, the course also has the participation of teaching by experienced and qualified teachers from both institutions. This has brought useful knowledge as well as impressive cultural exchange experience for all participants.

Students from the Faculty of Economics and International Business participated enthusiastically in the two courses. This is a good opportunity for students to study in a multicultural environment, thereby helping to prepare the necessary knowledge and skills for future work and life.

Two courses "International Economics" and "Writing for Transnational Business Management" were successfully organized, receiving many good feedbacks from all students.

The UEB in general and the Faculty of Economics & International Business in particular has been and will continue to make efforts to bring more new, useful and attractive training programs to students. Equipping students with a full range of professional knowledge and skills from the moment they enroll in school will be the perfect step to create the perfect momentum for them to confidently reach out to the world.
