Expanding the research collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology

On 17 January 2013, the delegation of Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) has visited and worked with the VNU University of Economics and Business and Ministry of Planning and Investment on the Research Project "Impact Assessments: maximizing the development value of inward FDI for local communities".

Attending this meeting were representatives from Swinburne University of Technology, Dr. Jerome Donovan - Program Coordinator, MBA (International), Dr. Eryadi Masli - Director, International Business (Undergraduate) and Dr. Christopher Mason - Deputy Head of Group, Marketing and Operations Management, Dr. Gregoria Manzin - Lecturer (Languages, Culture and International Studies).
Besides, there were also representatives from Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment), Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh - Head of Office of Research & Partnership Development and the members of the research team from the VNU- UEB: Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu, MA. Nguyen Thi Vinh Ha, MA. Nguyen Thanh Hang.
At the meeting, representatives of Swinburne University of Technology - Dr. Jerome Donovan briefly introduced the information about the project "Impact Assessments: maximizing the development value of inward FDI for local communities". He said that the project will not only help to develop and enhance research capacity for VNU-UEB lecturers and staff, but also actively support local economic development.

Then, on the basis of agreement to participate in the project, the two sides were discussing the direct of implementing the next activities within the framework of the project.
Basically, the research team of the VNU-UEB will conduct a survey in three economic regions of Vietnam; participate in finalizing the final report, involve in publishing research results in publications and international scientific articles in ISI category; join the workshop and transfer training programs on foreign investment norms in the APEC and ASEAN in Australia. Total cost of the project carried out in six countries is $ 430,000.
