UEB leaders welcomed Prof. Toritani Kazuo from Oita University

On 16th March 2009, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Rector of University of Economics and Business - VNU welcomed Prof. Toritani Kazuo, Oita University (Japan). Jointly attending the session were Dr. Vu Anh Dung - Vice Dean of Faculty of International Business and Economics, MA. Nguyen Thuy Linh - Vice Director of Scientific Research and Cooperation & Development Department, and other coordinators and lecturers of the UEB.

Oita University is one of the most prestigious universities in Japan with a variety of training majors such as Economics, Medicine, Engineering, etc. In particular, Oita University is composed of twelve modern research centers namely Research and Development Center, Center for International Education and Research, Human Welfare Research Center… They will be potential partners of UEB in improving the quality of training and scientific research.

During the session, Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Hong Son emphasized three main cooperative programs. They are Joint research, Student exchange, and Faculty exchange. In order to implement the Joint research programs, Oita University will share research information under the auspices of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)and the Japanese overseas studies program of the Japan Foundation for the development of joint research projects of the two partners. To implement the student exchange programs, Oita University will organize “study tour” programs for Japanese students to come to Vietnam to study and exchange the knowledge of culture, country, as well as Vietnamese economy. In addition, Oita will provide detailed information on the International Student Forum (ISF) so that the UEB will use as reference for the next organization. For faculty exchange, Oita will propose to the UEB specific topics for teaching and research for Japanese students to create the basis for the UEB lecturers to teach and study for short - terms in Japan.

The two partners have agreed to sign the MOU at the end of the session which forms the basis for the above specific cooperative programs with prior approval ofthe Board of Directors.
