Representatives of Oita University, Japan visited UEB

On 14th November 2014, the delegation from Oita University, Japan paid a working visit to VNU University of Economics and Business. From the partner University, there were Prof. Makoto Abe, Dean of Graduate School of Social Service Administration and Dr. Keizo Nanri, Center for International Education and Research.

Attending the meeting was Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development and officers in charge of International Relations and International Standard Program.

Oita University and UEB have had a long term partnership since 2009. Currently, the two institutions have been effectively implementing the student exchange activities, in which annually one or two students of Oita University can study for one or two semesters at the International Standard Program, Faculty of Business Administration, UEB and they will have credits accepted when returning their home institution. In 2011, there were 6 students of UEB attending the International Student Forum hosted by Oita University in Japan.

Talking with representatives of UEB, Dr. Keizo Nanri expressed his desire to continue promoting and developing the exchange programs between the two parties, and in the future, Oita University hopes to receive more UEB students to study in Japan. Oita University also proposed, at the soonest time that they will send information about international scholarships IPOU (International Program at Oita University) for undergraduates and graduates of UEB to apply for the program.

Representative of UEB, Dr. Le Trung Thanh emphasized that UEB in general and the Faculty of Business Administration in particular would facilitate and support international exchange students, and assign at least one Vietnamese student to support and help Oita University students during their study in Vietnam. UEB also proposed to develop short-term exchange programs (study-tours) for students of both universities to have chances to experience the culture and academic exchange.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to appoint representatives to keep contact for further cooperation activities in the future.
