Call for papers: International conference in formulating, managing and developing the cross border economic zones

The University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University - Hanoi will hold the international conference “Theoretical Issues and International Experiences in Formulating, Managing and Developing the Cross Border Economic Zones” in May 2017 in Hanoi.

Objectives

The conference is funded by the National Key Program for Science and Technology for the 2016-2020 Period entitled "Research on Key Issues in Social Sciences and Humanities for Social Development", aiming at strengthening the academic and practical exchanges and providing a forum for scholars and practitioners on the followings:

  • Theoretical background of the Cross Border Economic Zones (CBEZs)
  •  International experiences in formulating, managing and developing the CBEZs, the border economic cooperation zones and the implications for Vietnam.
  • The formation and development of Vietnam's border economic cooperation zones

Conference themes

We welcome experts, researchers, scholars and practitioners to contribute papers that include, but not limited to, the followings themes:

* Theoretical background of the CBEZs

o Definitions and characteristics of the CBEZs

o Necessity and roles of the CBEZs

o Theories relating to the CBEZs

o CBEZs models

o Conditions for the formulation of the CBEZs

o Influential factors on the development of the CBEZs

*International experiences in formulating, managing and developing the CBEZs, the border economic cooperation zones and the implications for Vietnam.

  • Models and characteristics of the CBEZs and border economic cooperation zones models of countries in the world
  • Roles of the CBEZs and border economic cooperation zones of countries in the world
  • Conditions on the formation of the CBEZs, and influential factors on the development of the CBEZs and border economic cooperation zones of countries in the world
  • Developing and managing policies of the CBEZs and border economic cooperation zones of countries in the world
  • Lessons learned for Vietnam in establishing, managing and developing the CBEZs and border economic cooperation zones

* The formation and development of Vietnam's border economic cooperation zones

o Causes of the formation and the development progress of the border economic zones, and the border economic cooperation zones of Vietnam

o Current status and the assessment of the development status of the border economic zones and border economic cooperation zones of Vietnam.

o Policies on managing and developing Vietnam’s border economics zones and border economic cooperation zones.

o Favorable and unfavorable conditions, and issues of Vietnam in managing and developing the border economic zones and border economic cooperation zones

o Some recommendations for the formation and development of the CBEZs of Vietnam

Deadline, structure and format of the paper

  • Submission of abstract and full paper: before 10th May 2017
  • Notice of acceptance: before 15th May 2017
  • Submission of revised paper at the request of the organizers: before 17th May 2017
  • The length of the paper should be between 4,000 - 6,000 words (excluding the list of references) and must include:

o Title

o Abstract

o Introduction

o Results and discussions

o Conclusion

o List of references

  • The paper can be in Vietnamese or English, and must have abstract in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Times New Roman font, size 13, line spacing 1.2, top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 3.5 cm, right 2 cm, in A4 and Word format.
