Finance and Banking students' practical training at Pvcombank

Continuing the spirit of connecting students to enterprises, on the 24th October 2017, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, University of Economics and Business – Vietnam National University of Hanoi and Vietnam Public Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PVcomBank) together held an informal talk to orientate career for students at the headquarter of PVcomBank, 22 Ngo Quyen street, Hanoi.


It is an insight day within the framework of internship program for student’s year 2017-2018. The aim of the sequence events was to help students gather practical knowledge relating to their major and career orientation. Specifically, in this practical trip, students had the chance to research about banking and finance generally, learn about service products that PVcomBank offers and the organizational structure as well.

 

The talk had the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu – Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, two young lecturers MSc Le Thi Ngoc Phuong and MSc Vu Manh Hung. From PVcomBank, many senior executives such as Mr. Doan Duc Minh – Vice General Director, Mrs. Tran Thi Le Nhung – from Human Resources Department, Mrs. Pham Thi Dong – Regional Director and Vice Director of PVcomBank Hanoi branch.

 

 

After the opening ceremony, students were introduced about PVcomBank. As a brand new bank, the aim of PVcomBank is balanced and sustainable. PVcomBank offers multiple types of services with a network of 116 offices in major provinces in Vietnam. The Bank has many independent businesses, including business clients, independent client, large enterprises …

 

Mr. Doan Duc Minh – Vice General Director of PVcomBank was an alumnus of Hanoi University of Science – VNU. As a fellow-student, Mr. Minh openly talked with students, not only sharing about career, about requirements of bank clerk, he also gave personal advices about working manner and learning conscious. Specially, for senior students, Mr. Minh advised that they should look for part-time job to learn job specific and improve overall skills.

 

The focus of the event was to hold an informal talk, allows students to ask PVcomBank questions. Participants in the talk were three managers from PVcomBank, from different departments: Ms Tran Thi Le Nhung, Ms Pham Thi Dong and Ms Ngo Thi Chau Giang. All students questions revolved around compensation, opportunities for training and career opportunities and promotion at PVcomBank, as well as specific questions about different position in the banking business such as: customer relation, international payment, risk management or human resource. Advices are given in detail, ranging from requirements for bank staff in various positions, to advices on what to prepare and how to dress before an interview.

At the end of the talk, students visited the headquarters of PVcomBank. Specially, 11 students from the Faculty of Finance and Banking were invited to participate in interview regarding different opportunities at PVcomBank. After the talk, the students expressed their gratitude to the senior leaders of PVcomBank who welcomed them enthusiastically, shared their experiences and inspired the next generation. The talk not only gave students an insight into the future career, but also helps them gain confidence in career opportunities, the motivation to learn and practice. In particular, given the situation of the labor market nowadays, students highly appreciate the role of the Faculty of Finance and Banking in connecting students with businesses.
