1. Vietnam gold prices surge to new peak

Vietnam gold prices rose to another new peak Wednesday, continuing its climbing trend in recent weeks as the Russia-Ukraine tension remains high. The state-owned Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) sold its gold at VND67.4 million ($2,951.61) per tael Wednesday, up 1.35 percent from Tuesday. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

2. Gasoline prices soar to yet another peak

Vietnam gasoline prices set a new record on the 1st March after authorities adjusted them upward for the sixth time in less than three months.

3. VN-Index posts largest gain in two weeks

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index surged 1.31 percent to 1,505.00 points Thursday, its biggest gain in over two weeks, as investors picked up falling stocks in previous sessions.

4. Farm, forestry, fishery exports rise by 15.8 pct 

Agriculture, forestry and fisheries exports increased by 15.8 percent year-on-year in January-February to US$8 billion.Farm exports led with $3.2 billion, up 10.2 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.Vietnam imported over $6 billion worth of agro-forestry and fishery products in the first two months, a 10 percent rise.
