UEBers' field trip to Hai Phong

On January 9, 2021, lecturers and students of the Faculty of International Economics and Business, VNU University of Economics and Business, together with experts from the Import and Export Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, lecturers and students of other universities of Logistics and Supply Chain training programs in Vietnam, had a field trip to Hai Phong.

The delegation of the VNU University of Economics led by PhD. Nguyen Tien Minh - Associate Dean of Faculty of Economics and International Business.
In Hai Phong, the students visited the warehouse for chemical products and witnessed its safety procedure. After a series of chemical warehouse fires in the past, preserving and storing chemicals had been carefully examined.
Recognizing such a pressing issue, MVG Dinh Vu Co., Ltd. (a joint venture established in 2014 providing services focusing on container business) had built a specialized warehouse for chemical products, ensuring the international standards in fire prevention and chemical incident management in Vietnam.
The second destination for the UEB's students was Dinh Vu port (Hai Phong) - one of the most modern deep-water ports in Vietnam with an output of over 600,000-700,000 TEUs per year. A system of modern cranes, forklifts, and transport vehicles, together with real-time software, helped optimize the delivery and receipt time. The area of the warehouse is up to 240,000m2, CFS warehouse 3600m2, 500 seats for unplugging reefer containers to help preserve goods in the best conditions.

In addition to the actual survey activities, the delegation attended the Launching Ceremony of the Student Logistics Club of Hai Phong University (Kien An, Hai Phong).
This is an opportunity for lecturers and students of universities to learn from each other, connecting the network of student , sharing information in Logistics, and coordinating activities to bring a useful playground for the students.
