At the end of October 26th, more than 100 blood units were donated at Hall 801, VNU University of Economics and Business. These units of blood will be delivered to help patients in Hanoi.
The event was organized by Bighugs Volunteer Club, Youth Union - Student Union of UEB in collaboration with the National Institute for Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
Blood donation day is an annual activity to promote the spirit of mutual affection, sharing the pain with patients through donating blood. Moreover, this is a noble gesture that promotes solidarity in the community.
The 2018 Blood Donation Day has attracted a large number of staff, lecturers, students from both inside and outside UEB. During the day, volunteers were examined by doctors of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, free blood test, received blood donation certificate. The combination with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion ensures the reliability, accuracy of the process of blood donation. The participation of members of the Voluntary Club of UEB also played an important role in supporting blood donation procedures, especially the dissemination of knowledge related to blood donation and blood diseases.
Ms. Nguyen Viet Ha (staff of Admission Office) said: "This is the first time I took part in the event, even though I'm afraid to see blood, I think this is a meaningful activity for not only patients but also the youth in general. This will be a chance for young people to show their responsibility to the society. "

The success of the 2018 Blood Donation Day has not only contributed to overcoming the severe anemia of blood banks today, but also demonstrates the spirit of action for community of the staff of the UEB.
