This was stressed in the review of the academic year 2006 - 2007 and also in the draft report on the tasks of the next academic year 2007 - 2008 by Assoc.Prof.Dr Phung Xuan Nha, Rector of UEB in the framework of the staff’s Congress held in the morning of 31st December 2007.
Attending the conference were Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Trong Quat, VNU’s Vice-President, Party Committee Secretary; Assoc.Prof.Dr Tran Kim Dinh, Chairman of VNU’s Trade Union; representatives from VNU’s offices, VNU’s departments, VNU’s units and all staff of UEB.
The review of academic year 2006 - 2007 by Assoc.Prof.Dr Phung Xuan Nha emphasized on achievements, as well as existing problems on each part of the UEB’s activities. The review affirmed: The academic year 2006 - 2007 was the transitional period between the Faculty of Economics and the University of Economics and Business, thus, except from all regular activities, the University of Economics and Business had to implement other tasks to maintain the stability of new school model. During the process of implementation there still existed limitations; however, the UEB basically completed the goals and missions of the academic year 2006 - 2007. In the 2007 - 2008, the University focuses on 8 essential missions with the view of constructing UEB’s brand name, particularly, concentrates on developing and strengthening staff’s ability. The College will check and promulgate necessary documents and decrees in order to improve organizational and managerial structure. Besides, UEB will also foster the process of implementing training on credits program.
Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Trong Quat highly appreciates UEB’s achievement in the academic year 2006 - 2007 and wish UEB will make use of its strength created by the young, enthusiastic and qualified staff and the potential of the VNU to build the UEB more powerful. On behalf of the board of VNU’s Directors, Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Trong Quat wishes all UEB’s staff health, happiness and success in the new year.
Also at the conference, the UEB granted Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister to the Faculty of Political Economics and Dr. Mai Thi Thanh Xuan, lecturer of Political Economy Faculty; granted Campaign Medals for the cause of education - training to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, UEB’s Vice-Rector and Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Van Dung, Dean of Political Economy Faculty.
Under the direction of UEB’s leaders and the unity and enthusiasms of UEB’s staff, the University of Economics and Business determines to reach its set goals, making itself one of the best colleges in Economics and Business Administration in Vietnam, in the region and in the world as a whole.
