Cooperation in transfer training program with University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA

On 6th and 7th January 2020, Representatives of University of Massachusetts Lowell (USA) visited and co-organized the international conference at UEB. Ending the conference, Representatives of two sides had a meeting in order to discuss about the prospect of cooperation in the future.


Attending the meeting, from University of Massachusetts Lowell, there were PhD. Sandra Richtermeyer - Rector of Manning School of Business, Assoc.prof.PhD. Steven Freund, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Hieu V. Phan and PhD. ChanWung Kim.

From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lam - Deputy Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, PhD. Nguyen Phu Ha - Head of Department of Banking, Faculty of Banking and Finance.

 
  

Opening the meeting, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu introduced the position, role and training scale of UEB in the current period. In particular, Mrs. Nguyen Anh Thu also emphasized on the successes in international relations and cooperation between UEB and foreign partners in implementing student exchange programs, dual degree training, etc.

 

PhD. Sandra Richtermeyer expressed an interest in UEB’s training programs and wished to cooperate with the UEB; especially, she emphasized that Massachusetts Lowell School always welcomed UEB’s students and researchers come to study and research. 

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, two sides have agreed on a common strategy to implement the cooperation, including: joint training of bachelor’s and master’s program, student exchange. Besides, two sides agreed on co-organizing online training courses in the future.

 

After the meeting, representatives of University of Massachusetts Lowell and international scholars from Canada, Australia, Thailand, South Korea participated in the city tour. The scholars visited many tourist destinations in Hanoi.

Ending working days at the UEB, international scholars were grateful to UEB’s warm welcome and valuable cooperation prospects. The international conferences and upcoming cooperation plans have been gradually affirming the brand and orientation of internationalization of VNU University of Economics and Business.
