The theoretical and practical issues of the trade relations between Vietnam and Japan were generalized. The trade relations of the two countries from 1990 to 2007 were discussed in which the successes, remaining constrains and causes were made clear. The author proposed measures to strengthen the bilateral trade relations between the two countries in the near future.
