Research purposes:
The thesis discussed the basic theoretical and practical issues of the small and medium enterprises (SME) in Vietnam. Later it assessed how SMEs are performing in Bac Giang province. The thesis concluded with a number of recommendations to adjust the policies applied by the province and the whole country as well. As a result, the performance and capabilities of SMEs in Bac Giang is expected to improve.
The new contribution:
Having described the policies and the small and medium enterprises operating in Bac Giang province for the recent years, the thesis found out conflicts and limitations of the policies issued by the province and the country. Besides, the thesis also discussed the challenges of the enterprises themselves.
A number of measures to improve the performance of the enterprises and to perfect the policies facilitating small and medium enterprises in Bac Giang from now to 2012 were recommended.
The thesis is a good source of information of small and medium enterprises for policy makers, businessmen, and anyone who are interested in the development of small and medium enterprises.
