Attending the Conference was Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Kim Son - Secretary of the Party Committee, President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Deputy Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, Member of VNU Council; Mr. Phan Ngoc Minh - Vice President, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Van Duc - Vice President, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Chairman, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Member of VNU Council.

 

The delegation of VNU University of Economics and Business had 22 members, led by the Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Economics and Business - Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le.

 

At the conference, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of VNU Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Kim Son said: “The year 2020 ends with many special events as we had to face great challenges. However, VNU, with its relentless efforts, has achieved the set targets, even exceeded. The conference is held to reflect upon aspects of achievements in the past year and draw lessons, as well as outline overall plans for the period 2021 - 2026. The year 2021 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the VNU Party Committee and the new five-year plan. Therefore, this is also a pivotal year for the following years.” Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that introducing innovative enrollment procedures and talent development systems are the key tasks of the year 2021.

 

 

At the conference, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Economics and Business was recognized as the leading unit in youth union activity and honored to receive the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for the outstanding achievements in the 2014 - 2019 period.

The year 2020 posed many challenges for the Vietnamese economy in general and VNU University of Economics and Business in particular. However, this is also an opportunity for the University to make breakthroughs in innovation in the training and enrollment process, affirming potentials in the working fields. The University of Economics and Business has achieved many outstanding achievements, including completing the improvement of facilities, green university project for sustainable development, successfully organize the Sixth Party Congress of UEB, implementing effective online learning during the Covid-19 outbreak, launching the Business Administration Training Program for Sports Talent, maintaining the high enrollment, improving the internationalization index, innovating teaching activities, promoting UEB's brand in scientific research, organizing large-scale start-up competitions for students, completing quality assurance towards international standards, introducing the UEB’s Vietnam-U.K. Friendship Sub-Association.

 

In recognition of the efforts of the VNU University of Economics and Business, the President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi awarded the Emulation Flag, Outstanding Labor Award, and VNU President’s Certificate of Merit to the UEB.
