UEB's students attended the Global Partnership of Asia College 2015 in Taiwan

From 23rd to 29th August 2015, students of the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) attended the 25th Global Partnership of Asia College (GPAC) at National Chengchi University.


GPAC was initiated by Prof. Min Sang Kee - Former Vice Rector of Seoul National University (South Korea) and Prof. Haruo Shimada - Rector of Chiba University (Japan). So far, the GPAC has been held 25 times in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. GPAC 2015 also marked the 9th member to attend. Current member universities of the Forum include: Seoul National University (Korea), Keio University, Meio University, Chiba University, Waseda University (Japan), National Chengchi University (Taiwan), College of Management Academic Studies (Israel), University of Finance and Economics (China) and the VNU University of Economics and Business (Vietnam).

Students of the UEB attended the forum included: Bui Thi Huong Lan (QH-2011-E TCNH), Dinh Xuan Chung (QH-2012-E KTQT CLC), Tran Thuy Duong (QH-2014-E KTQT CLC ) and Nguyen Huyen Trang (QH-2014-E KTQT CLC), the group led by Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of the Office for Research and Partnership Development. During 7 days of the forum, the group received a warm welcome from the host National Chengchi University.Under the theme of "Economic cooperation in Asia", UEB’s students presented 2 discussions on: The impact of tariff reductions in free trade agreements to import of dairy sector in Vietnam: Approach by SMART model and Check asymmetry volatility and spreading volatility of ASEAN stock market - 6 within the period of financial crisis.

Student Bui Thi Huong Lan said: "I feel very happy that our research papers were highly appreciated and praised by professors. This is also the last trip in my student life, and it is really meaningful when I have chance to exchange, share ideas and talk with talented students in Asia".

Within the framework of the forum, students are also divided into groups to join the "Competition", in which, each group of students from various schools will come together to discuss a question and report to the board of professors. In addition, the contest "Talent Show" is also anticipated. In the show, UEB’s students performed the contemporary folk dance “Beo dat may troi” and group song “Call me maybe”.

Additionally, through the outdoor trips, students can learn more about the culture and people of Taiwan as well as famous sites and and cuisines of the country.

GPAC is truly a meaningful activity, which attracts students from all countries to exchange research results and receive valuable comments from leading professors. Above all, GPAC create linkages between students - the young generation of the country, the strong links between Asian countries in the future.

GPAC 2016 will be held at Seoul National University, Korea. It promises to be successful activity, which brings valuable experience for students from all countries.
