Staffs and students of the UEB - VNU attended to GPAC 2009

GPAC 2009 - Asia, Road to a new world paradigm
During six days, from 25 to 30 August 2009, staffs and students of the UEB - VNU participated in international workshop GPAC 2009 (Global Partnership of Asian Colleges) entitled “Asia, Road to a new world paradigm”.

GPAC is a major international workshop for students took place succesively at the annual Asia countries that operating 17 years, and was initiated by Prof. Min Sang Kee - Former Vice President of Seoul National University, Korea and Prof. Haruo Shimada - President of Chiba University of Commerce, Japan. G

This year, GPAC was held at Chiba University of Commerce, Japan. Representatives attended to GPAC 2009 were lecturers and 116 students from seven major universities and colleges in Asia: Keio University, Meio University, Chiba University of Commerce - Japan, Chengchi National University - Taiwan; Beijing University - China; Seoul National University - Korea and University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

GPAC 2009 delegation of the UEB - VNU was led by MA. Nguyen Thuy Linh - Deputy Head of Scientific Research and Cooperation & Development Department with 4 students, including 3 students of QH-2008-E international standardized quality training program of Business Administration (Trinh Tuan Anh, Nguyen Quoc Tu, Nguyen Linh Phuong) and one student of QH-2007-E CLC International Economics (Nguyen Thi Loan).

In addition to the program of discussions and workshops, UEB’s students also joined in sport and cultural exchanging activities with students from other countries; especially, they had a chance of homestay in Japanese family a night to learn more about culture and people of Japan.

GPAC has an important mission and ideal capacity for Asian students to discuss about global issues, opportunities and challenges of Asia’s econom, as well as to share cultural, social issues of each country. Students from Asian countries vary in knowledge bases, religions and ideals; however, they all have the great opportunity for deeper understanding of common issues and have a strong belief in developing new world together in the future.

This is the second time when staffs and students of the UEB - VNU to be in the GPAC Workshop.

GPAC 2010 will be held in the University of Economics and Business - VNU. This is a great honor and an opportunity for the university to introduce Vietnam, Hanoi to international friends, and to enhance the cooperative ability with Asian universities in the future.
