The seminar attracted more than 300 delegates including experts, scientists, lecturers, students and students from universities; leaders of Tra Vinh province; representatives of enterprises, agencies and departments of Tra Vinh province.

The conference received more than 50 presentations from scientists across the country. After independent review from experts in the field of research, the conference organizers selected 28 articles and published the book "Economic Development of the Mekong Delta in a New Context" with three parts: (1) General economic development issues in the Mekong Delta; (2) Trade and investment development; and (3) Development of economic sectors. This is a useful reference for scientists, policy makers, and readers interested in the Mekong Delta region in particular and the Vietnamese economy in general.

The conference consisted of 2 working sessions, in which Session 1 presented reports on:

1. Report "Current changes in the world economy and implications for the Mekong Delta region" presented by Dr. Vu Thanh Huong from the University of Economics and Business.

3. "Solutions for developing small and medium-sized enterprises in Tra Vinh province in the period of 2021 - 2025" presented by MSc. Pham Van Be Sau – Department of Planning and Investment of Tra Vinh Province

At session 2 "Roundtable discussion on opportunities and challenges for trade and investment in the Mekong Delta", delegates and experts pointed out the main challenges in socio-economic development in general as well as trade, investment and economic sectors of the Mekong Delta region, and at the same time propose solutions for socio-economic development. opportunities for the region such as: Solving problems of low growth quality, low competitiveness, low labor productivity, limited quality of infrastructure, challenges from global climate change, etc.
