The ecosystem of platforms and associating applications has been growing very strongly in Vietnam and its influence has been recognized by the government and authorities.

The seminar on "Current platform economic situation in Vietnam: Situation and Discussion" was held to discuss and give a current perspective on digital economy in Vietnam. On that basis, the following seminars will be held to go further on this topic.

Opening the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh made a welcome speech to the guests attending the seminar. He said that the basic economy was a global trend and was "deeply absorbed" into Vietnam in many industries and fields. This was a great opportunity, but along with it were challenges and risks. However, Vietnam can take advantage of its internal potential to create an "economic leap".

Next, MA. Bui Ha Linh - Researcher in Macroeconomics, Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research conducted the discussion. According to her, at present, in the world, the basic economic model is "deeply ingrained" and has a strong impact on many fields from banking and finance, retail, transportation and tourism or labor supply, etc. of many countries’ economies.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said that when science and technology develop, businesses will benefit from linking economy and people. However, experts also pointed out that: in order to maximize internal conditions as well as the advantages of platform economy for sustainable economic development, the first thing to do is to change policy.

Digital economy and platform economy are emerging quickly and have profound impact on all aspects of the socio-economic life.
