With the theme of sustainable tourism and its impacts on the environment and people, the book is written by Prof.Dr. Luc Hens and Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen An Thinh as co-editor, published by MDPI Publishing House.
The book addresses the
growing interest in sustainable forms of tourism, with a focus on impacts on
the environment and human ecology. The social and economic impacts of
sustainable tourism are addressed, along with impacts on the natural
environment. Specific topics on the conflict between tourism development and
environmental quality are presented in the book, including: sustainable tourism
development, sport tourism, e-tourism; eco-environmental and humanistic impacts
of tourism to inland and island destinations; the impact of the built
environment of the historical zone on entertainment, recreation and sports;
assessment of low-carbon landscapes; the contemporary crisis of the tourism
industry caused by COVID-19. In addition, the book presents case studies in
travel destinations worldwide, with a focus on Asia and Europe (Vietnam,
Taiwan, China, Korea, and Spain). This is considered a valuable publication to
provide a scientific basis for policy making, to present tools for reducing
environmental impacts and methods to promote effective participation of
stakeholders.
