In the afternoon of November 27th, 2020, the Vietnam-U.K Friendship Association launched its Sub-Association at VNU University of Economics and Business. At this event, the first Congress of the 2020-2025 tenure was held with participation of a large number of members of the Association.
Attending the event, there was Mr. Vuong Thua Phong - former Deputy Head of the Central Foreign Relations Department, Vice President of VUFA and Mr. Tran Duc Hieu - General Secretary. From the UEB, there was Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector.
After completing the procedures, on September 3, 2020, the President of VUFA signed the Decision to establish the VUFA’s Sub-Association at the VNU-UEB. The establishment decision was awarded to Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le – Rector of the University. After that, the first congress for the 2020-2025 tenure was solemnly held.
The Congress discussed important issues in operations of the Sub-Association. At this event, 15 alumni from UK universities currently working as faculty members at the UEB were elected to become Executive members of the Sub-Association. PhD. Pham Vu Thang - Director of the Center for Economic Development Studies became the Chairman of the Sub-Association for the first tenure, meanwhile Mr. Le Duy Anh and Mr. Hoang Trong Truong became Vice Chairmen.
