Attending the meeting, there were Associate Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Hiep - Dean of Political Economy Faculty and all Faculty’s lecturers and staffs.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le pointed out a number of requirements for the Faculty of Political Economy in the coming period. One of important tasks was that the faculty needed to quickly complete the proposal of transferring the training form of major economics from Standard System to High quality training according to Circular 23 of the Ministry of Education and Training. He said that last year, UEB has switched to fully high-quality training in 4 majors. There have been only 2 majors, Economics and Development Economics, still trained as Standard System. Hence, these two majors needed be quickly switched to high quality training in order to create a common output in all UEB’s faculties.

In particular, the Rector also said that when switching to a high-quality training system, Economics major must have outstanding characteristics and quality, such as having a specialized training to become politicians and economic experts. In addition, in order for the major not to be too doctrinal, the faculty could introduced some subjects such as Music Perception, Sports into training process. Especially, he said that the faculty needed to promote the internationalization of education and attracted international students and organized large conferences with foreign professors involved. In the meeting, the rector informed that UEB has intended to open 2 more faculties of Service Economics and Natural Resources, which would be very "hot" majors in the future; therefore, UEB would be the pioneer in training these majors. He hoped all lecturers would contribute more ideas to build a perfect program.

Agreeing with the direction of the Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Hiep said that the Faculty had conducted research about the content which was mentioned by the rector; however, the speed of implementation was still slow and would be boosted in 2019. He also said that the faculty had been proposal of Master of Arts and Culture Management program in association with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This program has been currently very interesting and attracted a number of cultural and art management units.

On behalf of the lecturers in the Faculty, Prof.Dr. Phan Huy Duong agreed with the policy of the Rector and Dean of faculty. Prof. Duong said that the Faculty of Political Economy which was the precursor of the UEB today, was the traditional training major of UEB for nearly 45 years, However, in the environment of international integration, the training major also need to be changed according to international direction.
