A work visit to Oxford University, UK

From 18th to 28th February, a Vietnam National University, Hanoi delegation led by Prof.PhD. Mai Trong Nhuan, President paid a work visit to the Oxford University, U.K.

Joining the delegation were Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong son, Rector of the University of Economics and Business, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Rector of the University of National Sciences, and Dr. Pham Vu Thang, Director of the Center for International Training and Education, University of Economics and Business.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced of the Oxford University, the Continuing Education Department - Kellogg School of Management and the Said Business College and opportunities that the Vietnam National University, Hanoi could enter cooperation by Mr. Loren Griffith, Acting International Strategic Director.

The Said Business College is one of thirty-eight member schools of the Oxford University. It was ranked the sixth as the top world business schools and universities in the Eduniversal 2011. The School has been famous for its highly dynamic academic programs on improved capacity and developed leadership.  

The delegation of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the leaders of the Said Business College discussed the conditions and ties so that a short-term training program on “Operations Management Leadership Program” conducted by the Oxford University could be implemented for the enterprise community in Vietnam. The discussion ended successfully as the two sides agreed to further discuss for a memorandum of understanding to be signed in 2011.

Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son and Mr. Alan Hudson, Director of the Leadership Program for China - Continuing Education Department, Oxford University talked about the development and implementation of short-term training courses on leadership in the field of public administration in Vietnam. The two sides agreed to continue the discussion until a memorandum of understanding is signed so that a training program would be carried out in 2011.

At the visit, the delegation was offered a welcome lunch hosted by Madam Brances Cairncross, Director of the Exeter College which is a 500 year old school. Although the lunch was short, the leaders discussed cooperation opportunities and they were very interested in the idea of lecturer exchange that the two schools could do.

The visit led by Prof.PhD. Mai Trong Nhuan ended successfully with promising cooperation opportunities opened for the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
