A working session between representatives from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the UEB - VNU

On 22 September 2009, representatives from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Singapore) had a working session with Board of Directors of the UEB and a meeting with the university’s students.

Attending to the discussion, on the side of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) there were Assoc.Prof.Dr Scott Fritzen - Vice Dean and Ms. Regine Wong - Senior Executive, External Affairs; representatives of the UEB - VNU, Hanoi were Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Rector, and Head of Cooperation & Development Department.

At the working session, representatives of LKYSPP introduces its history, development process, training and research programs, especially the scholarship program of Master in Public Administration (MPA) and Master in Public Policy (MPP). LKYSPP discussed about cooperative opportunities.

After the short working session, representatives of LKYSPP had a meeting and discussion with UEB’s students on MPA and MPP training program, as well as scholarship policy. Thereby, the students of the UEB understood more about history of the foundation, development as well as MPA and MPP scholarship programs of LKYSPP. This program aims to improve the skills of managers working in public, private and civil sectors. At the meeting, LKYSPP representatives responded the students’ questions and enthusiastically shared experience with UEB’s students.

LKYSPP was established in 1992, which is directly under Singapore National University. This is the first university in the South-East Asia area, which specializes in training public policy field in English. Thus far, 53 Vietnamese students have been  trained in the school.
