Seminar on outcome-based training

On 18th April 2012, the VNU University of Economics and Business has organized a seminar to discuss and share about the experience in outcome-based training to meet the social requirements.


Attending the seminar was managers, faculty members and researchers of Thai Nguyen University, Thai Nguyen province and VNU Institute for Education Quality Assurance and VNU University of Economics and Business. Taking the chair of the seminar was Mr. Pham Van Hung - Head of Inspection, Testing and Education Quality Assurance Department, Thai Nguyen University and Dr. Vu Anh Dzung - UEB Vice Rector.
Currently, UEB has been adjusting 7 bachelor and 10 postgraduate training programs in accordance with outcome-based standard, employing the CDIO method, (Conceiving - Designing - Implementing - Operating). CDIO is a method designed for the technic - technology fields but can be applied to build the standard procedure in training areas as well. After 10 years of development, the method has been applied at over 50 universities in 25 countries. In Vietnam, the VNU University of Economics and Business is regarded as the pioneer whose flexible development and amendment of CDIO in training is proven effective. The seminar has brought a forum to exchange and share experience in the outcome-based training process among staff, faculty members and researchers of the University of Economics and Business, VNU Institute for Education Quality Assurance and Thai Nguyen University.
At the seminar, the participants have presented papers and share their experience while involving in the outcome-based training for undergraduate and postgraduate programs such as Bachelor in Economics, honor program of Bachelor in Finance - Banking, bachelor of Business Administration in strategic mission program and master in Economic Evaluation and International Project Management.
After the presentation of UEB faculty members, the delegates have discussed on the issues raised during the outcome-based building process. The seminar has again proven the increasing prestige of VNU-UEB, as well as its flexible and effective application of modern methods in improving the training quality, which has been recognized among other institutes.
