- Clarifying the awareness of rural economy as well as experiences of developing the rural economy in some countries and lessons applying to Vietnam in general and to Red river in particular.

- Analyzing sufficiently and comprehensively the reality and the development of economy in rural area of Red river delta in current period; indicating some general assessments about the agricultural production activities and rural development in Red river delta both in achievements and limitations.

- Indicating the orientations and solutions of developing the economy of rural area in Red river delta, some practical and useful solutions for the policy-makers.
