Attending the ceremony, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Standing Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, leaders of departments and offices of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, representatives of UEB’s partners having cooperated with the UEB over the years.

From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, together with the Vice Rectors, and heads of faculties and offices, as well as staff, lecturers, freshmen and students of the UEB.

 

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le congratulated the freshmen who have successfully passed the national high school graduation exams to attend UEB. He affirmed that: “With the theme of the 2019-2020 school year is to continue with "Internationalizing Education for Global Citizenship", students will have many opportunities to study in an international environment. You will have interesting experiences during your learning process, as the UEB is innovating education comprehensively, towards individualization, and continuing the transition from educational management towards providing high quality educational services, etc. UEB will guide you how to independently do in-depth research and have comprehensive learning methods, how to be passionate about knowledge and creativity, to have the will, courage and determination, to cast your eyes far away while place your heart close on the journey to knowledge; teach you about empathy and how to share problems with friends and support each other in life and in your learning journey, as well as how to love and bring joy to others. We will help you clearly see the value of labor and respect the scientific achievements associated with the practice of the country, in order to aspire to become skilled and talented people".

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le advised students to practice ethics and talents, cultivate knowledge and skills, acquire knowledge to become a global citizen, contributing to turn the University's internalizing education strategy into reality. Human knowledge has no boundaries. It is fair in all races and skin colors. Only with your own will and learning efforts can you make a difference, reach the pinnacle of human intelligence and become the envoys of Vietnam to spread our national values to the world.

 

Standing Vice President of Vietnam National University shared: "VNU University of Economics and Business is the pioneer in many fields, partly because the characteristics of the economic sector always require creativity and innovation, also partly because of the continuous efforts of lecturers and experts of the school. Students of UEB are highly motivated and ambitious. During your college years, it's needed to equip yourself with these three things: knowledge, skills, and attitude. It is the foundation for you to be able to succeed in the future. Wishing you a successful new school year with many breakthroughs."

 

At the ceremony, VNU University of Economics and Business awarded the prizes for 6 students who got the highest scores at the university entrance exam in 2019; 6 students with high academic achievements; 6 students who are class monitors, and students with outstanding contribution in the school’s Youth Union and Student’s Association and good academic results; and 6 students from difficult families having good academic achievements; as well as the student group who conducted scientific research that reached VNU’s level.

On this occasion, partners of UEB including: Investment Joint Stock Company (IMG), FLC Group Joint Stock Company, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), Southeast Asia Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SeABank), Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), ALLA Vietnam Paint Joint Stock Company, Jadine Cycle and Carriage Group, Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales have awarded many scholarships to the students of UEB, with a total value of over 500,000,000 VND.

 

 

 

 

 

  

Speaking at the ceremony, representing the university's partners, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Duong - Deputy General Director of FLC Group Joint Stock Company said that FLC and VNU University of Economics had started their partnership since 2018, and officially signed and became a strategic partner since September 2018. FLC is a large corporation with a professional working environment in many fields, so the company always tries its best to choose talents right when they are still in school. In the past few years, many UEB students have gotten jobs at FLC and she hopes this year this number will increase.

 

Representing the freshmen of UEB, student Vu Phuong Anh of QH-2019 Finance - Banking shared the pride of achieving her dream after 12 years of continuous effort, and officially becoming a freshman of VNU University of Economics and Business. On behalf of the new students, she said: Passing the national university entrance exam to become a UEB student is just a small initial success. In front of us is 4 years of study and practice. We will keep our determination and try our best to equip ourselves with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes so that we can contribute later to society and the country.
