Nurturing big dreams through daily efforts and determination

Thuy Trang always upholds that "Creating differences is the key to success", so from her early university years, Trang has determined the path she wants to take. She never stopped striving and choosing a direction different from her peers.

When determining her path, Thuy Trang continued striving for learning and training through competitions, extracurricular activities. She once achieved 1st runner-up in the Future Investors student competition, Top 9 of CFA Institute Research Challenge Vietnam (2021-2022). In her third year of university, Trang co-founded the Finance Investment Club (FIC) and held the position of Head of Expertise with the hope of building an academic community on Finance at UEB.

"Each year the FIC Club organizes two regular competitions: the Future Investors and Stock Market Learning (in collaboration with Deutsche Savings Bank). As the organizing committee of the competition, I have learned a lot more from fellow organizers, partners and competitors. This is also the highlight that I brought up in my scholarship application essay later to demonstrate leadership skills, networking and relationship building skills as well as teamwork." - Thuy Trang shared.

However, along with focusing on developing professional experience through part-time jobs, foreign language training and extracurricular activities, studying was always Thuy Trang's top priority. Trang received multiple consecutive School Encouragement Scholarships, achieved the title of Outstanding Student of the Faculty of Finance - Banking and was determined to graduate with Honors (GPA 3.6/4.0) to increase her competitiveness when pursuing scholarships. In addition, Thuy Trang also earned other necessary certifications such as Data Analysis or CFA to enhance her CV.

The journey of harvesting "fruits"

After determining the type of scholarship she wanted to pursue, perhaps one of the biggest challenges for Thuy Trang in preparing her application was writing the scholarship essay. Thuy Trang shared: "The essay needs to be clearly and coherently written, concise yet expressing my unique qualities. My essay was divided into 3 parts: Why Fintech, why I chose this major/university/country and my plans after graduation. I linked my past-present-future story to highlight my qualities and plans. A compelling essay leaves an impression on the reader through its sincerity and authenticity written by myself without others' influence. Most importantly, I poured my passion and dedication into it."

To achieve these proud accomplishments today, I want to thank my family, seniors for their support. I am especially grateful to Ms. To Lan Phuong and Ms. Nguyen Hong Minh - lecturers of the Faculty of Finance - Banking for enthusiastically writing recommendation letters to complete my scholarship application. They have also helped me tremendously in both academics and extracurriculars throughout my 4 years of university - the starting point of all my future opportunities. (smiles)

The professors and teachers at UEB provided a lot of support to Thuy Trang during the scholarship hunting process

Thuy Trang's journey of seeking and conquering scholarships was truly a memorable effort-filled process. And ultimately, she succeeded by receiving 4 Full Master's Scholarships in Europe. Thuy Trang expressed: "I chose to study at Dublin Business School because it is a highly ranked university for Fintech. Furthermore, its location in the capital Dublin (Ireland) is nicknamed the Silicon Valley of Europe. The curriculum is well-designed, combining theory and practice, and especially for some subjects, the school will invite experts from large companies to interact with students. One major advantage I really like about Dublin Business School is their maximum support for students to access financial data through free access to platforms like Bloomberg, Eikon, Market Line..."

Among the four options, Thuy Trang chose the Irish Government International Education Scholarship and studied at Dublin Business School

Thuy Trang conveyed these inspiring words to all UEBers: "As long as you have enough self-confidence, determination to strive and prepare the necessary equipment to conquer all challenges, I believe that any student can become the best version of themselves and achieve their dreams. Just keep believing and moving forward!"

With clear directions and goals, we wish Thuy Trang continued success in the future!
