VNU-UEB: Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy towards practical application, demonstrating national responsibility

Scientific research and innovation are the key mission of the VNU University of Economics and Business in the period of 2021 - 2025 and the following years. This is the goal identified in the Scientific seminar "Strategy of Science, technology and innovation of the VNU University of Economics and Business in the period of 2021 - 2025, toward 2030" held at the end of June 2022.


The seminar was honored to have the participation of authorities and leading scientists. From Vietnam National University, Hanoi, there was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Van Tich - Head of Science and Technology Department. The seminar was attended by Prof. Le Van Cuong from University of Paris (PSE), Vice President of the World Council of Public Economy; Prof. Tran Van Tho - Professor of Waseda University, , former member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group; Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh from Indiana University, USA; Dr. Nguyen Duc Hien - Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission; Dr. Tran Toan Thang, Head of Industry and Enterprise Economic Forecasting Department, National Center for Socio-Economic Information and Forecasting; Dr. Vo Tri Thanh, economic expert; Mr. Duong Tri Thanh - Former General Director of Vietnam Airlines; Dr. Dinh Quang Ty - Economist.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector of the University, said that over the past years, the university has achieved remarkable achievements with the vision of becoming a university ranked among advanced universities in the world. In 2022, the University is the main contributor in the VNU’s achievement of QS ranking 451 - 500 in the field of Business and Management. With that vision and achievement, the university has made a significant investment in Scientific Research and Innovation, promote research activities, provide policy consultation to the central and local governments, support the Government and ministries/departments/sectors with high value research and consultation.

The seminar received contribution from Prof. Le Van Cuong - lecturer at the School of Economics, University of Paris (PSE), Vice President of the World Public Economic Council, Prof. Tran Van Tho - Honorary Professor of Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, former member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group, Prof. Tran Ngoc Anh - Expert, senior advisor from Indiana University, USA.
