VNU-UEB gathers many leading scientists and scholars at the International Conference "Sustainability, Public Action and Individual Well-Being"

Under the professional auspices of the University of Strasbourg, the University of Paris Nanterre and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS); Faculty of Political Economy, University of Economics and Business organized the international conference titled "Sustainability, Public Action and Individual Well-Being".


Taking place on July 18 and 19, 2022 at the UEB, the conference had the participation of prestigious scientists in the world: Prof. Nguyen Van Phu from the University of Paris Nanterre - France (one of the top 8% world best economic scientists); Prof. Pham Thi Kim Cuong - Lecturer at the University of Paris Nanterre; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Thanh Tam - Lecturer at EM Normandie Business School, France; Dr. Pham Ngoc Sang - Lecturer at EM Normandie Business School, France; Assoc. Prof. Dr. David Desmarchelier - Lecturer at University of Lorraine, France; along with speakers from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector together with staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Political Economy.

 

The conference is organized in a hybrid format for researchers and scholars in many countries to attend

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu expressed her pleasure to welcome the delegation including scientists, prestigious speakers from leading French universities and research institution to visit and work at the UEB. She said, the conference is one of a series of international conference held by UEB after the Covid-19 pandemic to connect and create an in-depth academic research environment for UEB's staff and lecturers. The role and responsibility of scientists in the field of economics to provide research and practical recommendations for the development and recovery of the economy in Vietnam and the world after the pandemic.

Professor Nguyen Van Phu - University of Nanterre France

With the theme "Sustainability, Public Activity and Personal Welfare", the conference discussed seven topics including 14 research papers presenting by scholars and researchers from the university of Nanterre, the University of Strasbourg, the UEB and other institutions.

 

Dr. Pham Ngoc Sang - Lecturer at EM Normandie Business School, France presented the study "Impacts of (individual and aggregate) productivity and credit shocks on equilibrium aggregate production"

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Thanh Tam - Lecturer at EM University Normandie Business School, France presented the study "CSR and Business Performance: Evidence from Vietnamese SMEs".

 

Dr. Martina Ayoub - University of Manchester from United Kingdom presented the discussion "Lost in transition: How to" break out from the niche? The case of micro-algae”.

 

The conference also discussed a number of theoretical and practical issues such as: Economic Growth and Development, individual welfare, Education, Climate change and environmental regulations and policies, Circular economy, Green finance, Small and medium enterprises with ecological transformation...

Especially at this conference, PhD students from universities were able to present their research works in front of the professional council. Through this, graduate students of UEB and universities have gained many valuable experiences when participating in the implementation of research projects at the conference.
