Conference “Co-operation between University of Economics and Business-VNU and Entrepreneurs: Potential, Situation and Resolutions”

On 25th September 2008, Hanoi Businessmen Association (HBA) and University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (UEB-VNU) together held the conference on “Co-operation between University of Economics and Business-Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Entrepreneurs: Potential, Situation and Resolutions” at Le Van Thiem Meeting Hall, No.19, Le Thanh Tong, Hanoi.


At the conference, there was Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - President of VNU together with leaders of funtional departments of VNU, nearly 200 managers, distinguished scientists from universities and research institutes, entrepreneurs, lecturers and students of UEB-VNU.

There were four discussion reports at the conference which are: “Training module in close relation with demand from entrepreneurs” by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Rector of UEB; “Training cooperation between entrepreneurs and universities: the role of HBA” by Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of HBA; “Cooperation between UEB and entrepreneurs: an overall point of view and further steps” by Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Chairman of Gami Group, Dean of Business Administration Faculty-UEB and “Universities and entrepreneurs cooperation: international experience and application for Vietnam” by MA. Le Thi Phuong Thao - Lecturer of Faculty of Finance and Banking, UEB.

Attendants, after discussing the above issues, clarified: the importance of universities and entrepreneurs; the relationship between the two; international experience; the situation and resolutions for UEB-VNU and entrepreneurs effectively cooperating, making sure of qualified “training products” which meet entrepreneurs demand.

Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - President of VNU emphasized: “I strongly welcome the idea of cooperating with entrepreneurs of UEB. There must be a suitable machenism and policy in which the two parties gain the best with the least risk. To universities in general and UEB-VNU in particular, one of the guidelines of cooperation is to ensure training quality…”

Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of HBA officially announced the establishment of Human Resource Development Fund to give timely encouragement to students who have excellent results, or unique business ideas, or the will to get over difficulties to study well.

Leaders of UEB, together with the two partners: Vietnam Association of Foreign Invested Entrepreneurs (VAFIE) and LienVietBank, signed two Agreements of Cooperation with the witness of representatives from VNU and entrepreneur partners of UEB.

The conference really was a forum in which managers and businessmen had chance to express their opinions about training and scientific researching at the university, at the same time exchanging information, enhancing understanding and proposing cooperating fields…aiming at a close relationship and effective cooperation between the university and business partners so that training products will meet the demand of business as well as the society.
