Leading the Trend of Digital Transformation in the Field of Finance – Banking: Pioneering Steps in Training of the University of Economics and Business - VNU

Toward to the goal of practical training, the Board of Director of PVcomBank, and the representatives of the Administrators and the Faculty of Finance and Banking, University of Economics and Business – VNU (UEB – VNU) organized an online exchange program with the aim of providing practical training, sharing useful information, updating the information on digital transformation in the field of finance and banking, contributing to strengthening the partnership between 2 partners in bringing more value knowledge to students.


Participating in the event, on PVcomBank’s side, there were participations of Ms Nguyen Thi Nga - Director of Vietnam Public Commercial Joint Stock Bank PVcomBank, Ms Le Thi Hanh - Deputy Director of Human Resource Management Division, Ms Nguyen Thi Nga - Deputy Director of the Board of Directors. Marcom and other staff.

On the side of the University of Economics and Business - VNU, there were the attendances of Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Trung Thanh - Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Hieu - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, and Dr Luu Ngoc Hiep - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, faculty lecturers and students.

 

Workshop “Transformation in the field of Finance – Banking: Opportunities for career breakthrough with Fintech” 

Digital transformation has been a “race” in the Finance – Banking industry in recent years. This is the trend to improve operational efficiency by reducing and automating procedures, boosting future readiness, and improving client experiences. Additionally, digital transformation can improve banks’ ability to compete in an industry that is evolving quickly.

The requirements that decide the edge in this race are high-quality human resources with complete professional capabilities in finance and technology. The lack of human resources is currently a major barrier for businesses and digital banking.

Dr. Vu Quoc Tien – Lecturer of the Faculty of Finance and Banking shared about development trends in the field of Fintech

UEB’s Fintech Master Program is under TRUST Project, co-funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ program, and is the first and only training program in the North of Vietnam that provides a training program in Vietnamese and is awarded by local universities.

Besides the practical training program, UEB Fintech students also learn in a modern and creatively stimulating environment. FINLAP room is filled with modern equipment to help students “learning goes hand in hand”.

Also in the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Trung Thanh – Rector awarded 02 entrance scholarships worth 10% to the staff of PVcomBank.
 

Digital transformation trends and development opportunities with Fintech were discussed enthusiastically at the event 

At the event, PVcomBank brought 05 practical internships at enterprises for the 05 best students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking accompanying the program “Diamond Journey”.

It can be said that the workshop exemplified the spirit of constant collaboration between the University of Economics and Business – VNU and banks, particularly PVcomBank, to understand Fintech growth trends. The two units anticipate having further opportunities for cooperation and training development for students and staff after this event. Along with providing both parties with beneficial chances, PVcomBank wants to increase the value of information.
