UEB’s Lecturer took part in evaluating the program at the University Waikato

From 30th July - 3rd August 2018, Dr. Pham Vu Thang - Lecturer of Faculty of International Business and Economics, Director of The Center for Economic Development Studies, VNU-UEB has participated in training course: Innovate programs and textbooks - Experiences from New Zealand which is organized at University Waikato, New Zealand.


This is a program sponsored by the Central Organizing Committee's 165 Program for 18 senior department leaders from MOET, directors of education and training departments and principals of pedagogical universities under MOET. Dr. Thang participated in designing and participating in the evaluation of the program for the University of Waikato to ensure that the program is suitable with the orders of the Central Organization Board and the demand for training of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Dr. Pham Vu Thang is an expert in development economics, who earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of EastAnglia,and is also Project Director at Thriive Hanoi - Project for interest-free loans to support community, with his expertise Dr. Thang has participated in program design and evaluation to ensure the consistency and quality of the program.

While at Waikato University, New Zealand, Dr. Thang met with Prof. Frank Scrimgeour, Dean of Accounting, Finance and Economics, and Kathryn Hodson, Director and Chris Henderson, Vice Director of the Professional Training Institute of University Waikato on promoting co-operation between University Waikato and University of Economics and Business - VNU, especially in the field of student exchange, traineeship, lecturers and academic exchange, this is in the internationalization strategy of both schools.
