On 17th October, 2017, leaders of VNU University of Economics and Business had a meeting with representatives of Dow Chemicals Company, US.
Attending the meeting, there were Dr. Tomoyuki Sasama - General Director of Dow Chemicals Vietnam and Mr. Nguyen Hoai Son - Manager of Public Affairs and Government Affairs of Dow in Vietnam. From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Thi Vu Ha - Deputy Head of Research and Partnership Development and Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Dean of Faculty of Development Economics.
At the beginning of the meeting, the two sides summarized the activities undertaken within the Leadership in Action program. Accordingly, the Dow’s team has supported the Faculty of Development Economics in developing learning resources related to green growth, sustainable development, climate change economics etc., in the past 6 months.
Talking with representatives of the UEB, Mr. Tomoyuki Sasama highly appreciated the partnership between the two sides. He expressed the desire to develop and expand cooperation activities in the coming time.
At the meeting, leaders of the UEB wished to receive support from Dow Chemical in some activities of the University, including: Inviting Dow’s experts to consult for the competition “Genesis Start-up” and as guest lecturers at the UEB, strengthen research capacity for lecturers and students; supporting the development of learning materials, especially in the field of sustainable development and green growth etc.
