Attending the meeting, from ICAEW were Ms. Sharon Spice - director of international students - ICAEW Global, Ms. Dang Thi Mai Trang - ICAEW Chief Representative in Vietnam, Ms. Vu Le Huong - Head of Education Development, and staffs of the ICAEW; from VNU-UEB were Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Anh Tai - Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung - Lecturer in the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing.

Opening the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu introduced generally about VNU-UEB as well as teaching and cooperation activities of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing. Dr. Le Trung Thanh summarized the implemented exchange programs between the two institutions, and proposed the orientation of cooperation development with ICAEW in particular and other international accounting and auditing organizations in general. Dr. Tran Anh Tai also recommended specific activities including applying international standard courses into high quality undergraduate and graduate programs of the Faculty. On behalf of ICAEW delegation, Ms. Sharon introduced the global activities and the principle of ICAEW, which is a quality-oriented organization and the training customers are high-qualified students, not mass training.

The two sides exchanged, summed up the cooperation activities that were implemented between ICAEW Vietnam and VNU-UEB for the past few years; and discussed the plan of supporting ICAEW’s documents for the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, organizing meetings and exchanges between ICAEW’s experts and students of the Faculty.

At the meeting, the two institutions discussed specific cooperation programs in the future to further develop the relationship between VNU-UEB and ICAEW. Ms. Sharon and Ms. Dang Thi Mai Trang expressed their interest in upgrading the relationship to strategic and long-term partnership through action plans such as: supporting the training materials and training of trainers for the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing; supporting VNU-UEB to attend ICAEW workshops, contributing to leverage some of the subjects of the Faculty towards international level, delivering short-term courses to develop skills for students of the faculty as courses on skills and professional ethics is a major strength of ICAEW.

Besides, Ms. Dang Thi Mai Trang also introduced to VNU-UEB ways of studying to be awarded the certification from CFAB-ICAEW including online courses, learing with tutors. Ending the meeting, the two institutions agreed on a roadmap of cooperation in 2016 and the long-term development orientation in the future.
