On 18th January 2016, the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) held the meeting with Mr. Ryan B. Shaffer – Director of Programs and Dr. Andrew Collier - Senior Expert of Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation.
Attending the meeting, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector and Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development.
Previously, through introduction and connection of the Dr. Desaix Anderson - Pacific Century Institute, USA (one of the strategic partners of the UEB), Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation arranged the meeting with the UEB to discuss plans for cooperation in training projects in collaboration with University of Hong Kong.
At the meeting, Mr. Ryan B. Shaffer introduced the preliminary plan, participants and content of the training project to leaders of the UEB and expressed the wish to cooperate with the UEB in this project.

Talking to representatives of the Foundation, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son said, with the aim of becoming research-oriented university, the UEB has always focused on building and promoting research cooperation with domestic and international partners to improve capability of lecturers and staffs. Since 2011, the university has organized various research activities and international conferences such as the conference on Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Management, Public Policy and Sustainable Development, Women's Empowerment Conference etc., and most recently the World Finance and Banking Symposium. The UEB is willing to work with Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation and the University of Hong Kong in the training project in order to enhance capacity of lecturers and staff as well as promote the image of the UEB to international partners and friends.
Following the plan, Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation will collaborate with the University of Hong Kong and VNU University of Economics and Business to organize training projects and seminars in 3 days at the end of May 2016. The project on TPP - Trans Pacific Partnership will attract participation of many leading experts of Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation and University of Hong Kong.
