Establish partnerships with the College of Business and Economics, Australian National University

On 9th September 2015, leaders of the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) had a meeting with the College of Business and Economics, Australian National University (CBE). Attending the meeting, there were Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector and Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development. From the CBE, there were Mr. Jay Poria - Head of Office of Partnership Development and International Marketing; Dr. Vinh Lu - Senior Lecturer of Department of Management Studies.



Australian National University is partner of the UEB since 2011, in particular, the UEB had a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Crawford School of Economics and Government. However, this is the first time, representatives of the School of Business and Economics have visited and worked with the UEB.

Opening the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu briefly introduced about the UEB, a member of Vietnam National University with 6 departments and 2 bachelor programs accredited by the ASEAN University Network (AUN). Dr. Thu also introduced about training programs and exchange activities; major research-oriented projects and large international research of the UEB.

Talking to leaders of the UEB, Mr. Jay Poria said the UEB and the CBE shared a lot in common, including training programs and development orientation. The CBE is the most dynamic and international learning environment in Australia with about 3000 foreign students over 5000. Representatives of the CBE also expressed the desire to develop long-term cooperation relationships with prestigious universities in Vietnam as well as build up extensive cooperation in research, training and exchange programs.

Ending the meeting, the two sides agreed to exchange more information on the training curriculum, research directions and information about the seminars, short courses... to establish a detailed deployment plan for cooperation in the near future.
