Signing ceremony of MOU with Munich University of Applied Languages

On 5 August 2015, the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) held a signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding with the Munich University of Applied Languages, Germany.



Attending the ceremony, from the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector and leaders of offices and faculties. From the Munich University of Applied Languages, there were Prof. Andreas Stoffers. Those in attendance also included Mr. Björn Koslowski - Deputy Representative of Germany Chamber of Industry and Commerce Vietnam, Mr. Hans-Georg Jonek - Director of Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Vietnam, Ms. Laura Chan from the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) and Mr. Tran Quoc Trung - Former First Secretary, Embassy of Vietnam in Berlin, Germany.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son highly valued the collaborative relationship with the Munich University of Applied Languages. Although the relations between the two sides just started from the beginning of 2015, many collaborative programs and projects has been initially negotiated and quickly implemented. The partnership is more meaningful when the two countries are celebrating the 40th year of Vietnam - Germany diplomatic ties.

At the ceremony, Prof. Andreas Stoffers expressed sincere thanks to the UEB for solemnly welcoming and organizing the ceremony. He appreciated the development and reputation of the UEB and desired to build lasting and comprehensive partnership with the University. In the coming time, the professor is committed to accompany the project team to promote the publication of monographs working with the Faculty of International Business and Economics (FIBE).

After the discussion, the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Accordingly, the MOU will officially open opportunities for faculty and student exchange, academic exchange through scientific seminars, conferences and other research projects.

The signing of MOU not only marked the first step in cooperation between the two universities but also affirmed the position and prestige UEB in international education community.  Right after the signing ceremony, Prof. Andreas Stoffers together with representatives of FNF and research team of FIBE will continue discussion on finishing and publishing the monographs in the soonest time.

During this working visit to Vietnam, Prof. Andreas Stoffers will make 2 presentations with faculties and students of the UEB. The first one will be made on Friday (7th August) under the theme of opportunities of bilateral cooperation in the field of business between Vietnam and Germany. The 2nd presentation on two topics: (1) Germany Business and Commerce in Vietnam and (2) ASEAN Economic Community in view of Germany will take place on Monday (10th August). The talks are promising to bring lots of useful information for faculty and students of the university.
