Studying the world’s development trends in service sector ; the adjustments in development policy of services of some countries such as the U.S., Singapore, China, EU and the transition and integration economies ; some theoretical and practical bases of the development of service sector in the world ; the role of service sector for the socio-economic development of Vietnam.

Assessing the development situation and policy of service sector in Vietnam during 1986 (the start of the innovation process) until present (2010).

Proposing several solutions to develope service sector in general and a number of priority services in Vietnam in 2020.

About the author:
Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Hong Son is lecturer of VNU University of Economics and Business cum researcher of international economics and service sector development in general and Vietnam’s service sector development in particular. He is author/co-author of many books, chapters and research papers of international economics, international economic integration and service sector development… Apart from research and training activities, he also devotes as a consultant for several organization and enterprises in Vietnam and abroad. He is now Rector of the VNU University of Economics and Business.
